From what I could see, everyone accepted it. I loved that these books embraced “girl power” without being in your face about it. All of that was a nice way to revisit our friends and say goodbye. The loose ends being wrapped up were: Dragons having babies, Creel getting married, the King and Creel are unsure about becoming related, Creel’s aunt and cousins are still a handful, and Creel’s brother meeting the Dragons. There was even more drama about the way some dragons interact with people. There was lots of interesting drama about about the idea of the dragons not agreeing who the true queen was. Turns out there are many more dragons than we knew about. We learned a bit more about dragon history. The book did a great job of wrapping up loose ends and still telling a new story. Sure, some of the finer details about what happened in the previous books might have escaped me but I remembered enough to fall into step quickly. I haven’t read the Dragon Slippers books in over a year but I stepped into this book without many problems. Jessica Day George’s books make me so happy.
